The optimization of PV and ESS setup according to local conditions has a direct impact on the economic and ecological benefits of the base station power system. An improved base station power system model is proposed in this paper, which takes into consideration the behavior of converters.
When the base station operator does not invest in the deployment of photovoltaics, the cost comes from the investment in backup energy storage, operation and maintenance, and load power consumption. Energy storage does not participate in grid interaction, and there is no peak-shaving or valley-filling effect.
An improved base station power system model is proposed in this paper, which takes into consideration the behavior of converters. And through this, a multi-faceted assessment criterion that considers both economic and ecological factors is established.
From the above comparative analysis results, 5G base station operators invest in photovoltaic storage systems and flexibly dispatching the remaining space of the backup energy storage can bring benefits to both the operators and power grids.
